SsangYong Rodius - Press Launch

SsangYong contracted BBC Resources to use Studio 3 at BBC TV Centre, London, for the launch of its new Rodius model. Journalists from every motoring magazine were invited to review the car and take photographs.

Catering and hospitality played a vital role in the launch, to accentuate the ambience created by the BBC lighting and staging technicians. A hot oriental buffet was supplied, with Korean beers being sourced to remind journalists where SsangYong originates from.

The logistics were difficult with restricted access and no cooking facilities on site. Wood Hall Events provided a solution to the problem by cooking everything at a nearby company facility and then transporting the hot food in special, industrial grade, thermostatically controlled hot boxes. Hard equipment such as display tables and servery equipment were brought from a different depot, with a catering project manager, co-ordinating all vehicle movements and staffing. The event catering was a huge success, with several follow on jobs as a result.
